Yes, it is a little more aggressive than other forms of breast cancer, but it is highly beatable. And you've had the full treatment, so plan on being OK. The BRCA gene is associated with increased risk, but not necessarily with a worse prognosis. So don't fret over that one. Hugs.
Patricia Prijatelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08346233311451068354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5239665991629834606.post-82875850927962970782017-01-18T15:39:49.391-06:002017-01-18T15:39:49.391-06:00A year free from tnbc. I just said to doctors just get on with it. Went to oncologist this week for checkup and she told me I had tnbc . Started looking it up on Internet and I am more scared of recurrence now. Feeling down this week. I have to have gene test as I have 2 cousins with baca1 mutations so really scared today. Glad to find this blog as need to tell someone how I feel. Family great but don't want to worry them.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04191349390762317905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5239665991629834606.post-17210632445966155952016-02-18T10:23:36.234-06:002016-02-18T10:23:36.234-06:00This is a great article. I had 12 weeks of Taxol (every Wednesday) and then (4) rounds of FAC (21 days between each treatment). Then a lumpectomy and finally, (4) weeks of radiation. During my treatment I posted everything on Facebook for three reasons. 1) so everyone wouldn't keep asking me the same questions over and over 2) if someone had any helpful information for me, it was welcomed and 3) if I got into a pity party, I put it out there and everyone's responses were so positive it got me out of my funk immediately.

At this time in my life, I go to the gym every morning, come home and shower and then I go to work. I work part time and from home for a staffing company. I want to tell everyone who reads this...I look at cancer as a blessing because I am now stronger physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally than ever before. Stay strong warriors and kick cancer's butt!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16685271544336680471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5239665991629834606.post-73453131770862625242012-11-09T23:58:24.724-06:002012-11-09T23:58:24.724-06:00Thank you so much. I was high grade tumor in stage 2. I was nervous at first about being triple negative because the chances of reoccurring but I will deal with that if happens. I have nueropathy in fingers, leg and feet. Sometimes they throb and burn. I still get very tired and fatigued. If I get upset or overtax my body, it takes me a day or two to bounce back. I pray everyday it does not return. I have a nodule on my back, but family physican says it is not a normal cancer spot, so we will keep an eye on it.maenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5239665991629834606.post-24943552926422338052012-08-05T06:06:32.299-05:002012-08-05T06:06:32.299-05:00Thank you very much for this - I was treated for t...Thank you very much for this - I was treated for triple negative last year. Treatment (chemo and radiotherapy) finished in November 2011. It's now August 2012 and I'm having to take two weeks off work due to exhaustion. I worked through treatment and flung myself into 'normal' work and trips abroad in January, now I'm knackered!! As I am sooooo tired I have been getting anxious about recurrence as I have aches in the treated area. Mind you, I have aches everywhere. It's such a tough one - what is a sign of recurrence and what is normal after treatment. I just don't know.
Anyway, thanks again for this post - it has been very useful!Carolyn Hnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5239665991629834606.post-81618100336172406012012-01-04T20:03:08.423-06:002012-01-04T20:03:08.423-06:00So glad I found this blog. I am looking forward to celebrating my 80th birthday on March 1st! I had breast cancer (estrogen receptive) age 33 and survived to raise my 5 children. Most days my fear is held at bay, but the last few weeks the fear is so real. I actaully almost sent you a private email last evening. I think it is because I haven't been feeling well these last few weeks. Interestingly I did some research on late-effects from cancer treatment and fatigue/pain is under documented. Thanks again for all you do!Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15396309591269376813noreply@blogger.com
